 Hi
- I am 16 years old and have been playing drums for 8years. I passed
my grade 8 drums at 10 and can play all styles. I am now studying
percussion and piano at Junior Guildhall. I have discovered a
passion for playing tuned percussion, under the expert guidance of
Rob Farrer. I can sight read or busk - Whatever is required, and am
known for my quick learning, groove and consistency, especially with
a click. MY jazz vibes, piano, Marimba and other percussion are all
at a good level too.I have been on national TV 3 times, and radio. I have played at many prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall. My year has been full on. After winning the Young Drummer of the Year 2009, I also took the Junior Guildhall Percussionist prize 2009 and the Jam Percussion Award.. I had the privilege of touring with Thomas Lang and playing at a clinic with Mark Schulman, as well as playing at Music live at the NEC, The Royal Albert Hall including The BBC Proms, The National Drum Fair, The Royal Opera House Percussion Day, The International Drum Extravaganza, Fairfield Hall & St John's Smiths Square. I have appeared in Drummer & Rhythm magazines as well as The Beat Book – a new publication. I have played a lot of big band & jazz this year and love it. Big thanks to the Hothouse band for supporting me at YDOTY this year. This year is already looking like it will be a busy one. I am already booked for The Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, Music Live 2010 and many other appearances and clinics, and I will be playing them on the best quality sounding kit around as I have just signed up to endorse Ford drums and am very excited about the prospect.” My influences are varied and broad, and include Paul Francis, Rob Farrer, Ralph Salmins, Karl Brazil, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang, Peter Erskine, Buddy Rich, Vinnie Colaiuta, Craig Blundell, Jonathon Taylor, Jon Eno & Clem Cattini.
